Miriam and John Westerdoll

In keeping with the warm, family-oriented spirit that has always characterised the festival, our project has been supported for many years by Miriam and John Westerdoll, directors of the Theater- und Kulturverein Füssen e.V. and Waldbibliothek gUG (haftungsbeschränkt).

They serve as the festival's coordinators in Füssen and Hohenschwangau, organise all festival concerts, act as co-organisers of the Clavis-MICA Festival, and oversee the sponsorships and donations that help our project grow and flourish.

Miriam Dunja Westerdoll

Born in Darmstadt, Miriam Dunja Westerdoll received her first training in piano, singing, and acting before studying Theatre Studies and English Literature at the Universities of Bayreuth and Mainz.

Following numerous theatre productions throughout Germany as a director, dramaturge, and performer, she settled in Füssen in 2011. Together with her husband and the Theater- und Kulturverein Füssen, she has made a significant contribution to the cultural life of the region.

Since 2016, she has been the artistic director of a biennial festival of theatre and performance art held each October in Füssen.

Since 2022, she has also directed the renowned Füssener Easter Play, staged regularly in St. Mang Church in Füssen. Featuring singers, specialists in early music, and a large ensemble of performers, the production has become one of the region's most celebrated theatrical events.

John Arthur Westerdoll

Born in Glendora, California (USA), John Arthur Westerdoll grew up in Friedberg and Füssen. He studied violin in Munich, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem before embarking on a distinguished career as an orchestral musician, freelance performer, and educator with engagements throughout Germany and abroad.

Today he lives and works as a freelance artist in Füssen, where, together with his wife Miriam, he organises theatre productions and international concert projects.

Since 2016, he has also been the director of Germany's only Forest Library (Waldbibliothek gUG), a unique cultural institution located within a protected nature reserve. Dedicated to the promotion of arts, culture, and education, the Waldbibliothek places particular emphasis on supporting young artistic talent and creating inspiring cultural experiences in an exceptional natural setting.
